Bugs

I used to collect bugs. I think I was in 5th or 6th grade when I got really interested in the practice. I recall even stopping by the Entomology lab at BYU to get supplies to catch, kill, and display those creepy crawly creatures.

If I recall correctly, I filled up two boxes before losing interest. I’m not sure what caught my attention after that. I’m sure I went through several subjects during that time. I think I even got an accounting textbook too.

Anyway, I don’t mind bugs these days. I just don’t want to see them. I definitely don’t want to touch one. Not even a dead one.

It is fascinating to watch Nature shows on bugs. In fact, today’s trip down memory lane was sparked by a picture of a dragonfly. I had recently seen that these bugs grew up in water and looked nothing like the parent version everyone is familiar with.

Standing in the Ocean

On an excursion I took a ride on a sit down jet ski. It wasn’t freestyle and I could not go where I wanted. I fell behind and was instructed to go faster and catch up. It was a bit unnerving to watch the water fly by underneath me. I thought it would hurt if I feel off at that speed.

After catching up, the leader of the group came to a stop and instructed everyone to gather around. He then told people to get off their vehicles.

I looked at all the water around me and was not going to get off.  I looked back and watched him drop into the water. We all had life jackets on, but his shoulders were poking out of the water as if he was not floating and it looked like he was walking around.

I noticed other people dismounting and standing in the water. I had to try, but I thought about sharks or something else that might find me a juicy meal. Or a tasty snack.

I was not going to be like the one guy.who looked as if had trouble getting on his jet ski in the first place. I guessed he was determined to stay on until being forced off.

I dropped into the water and my feet was touching ground. It was some kind of sand bar.

It was weird to be up to my chest in water and seeing water in every direction, but to be standing in the middle of the Caribbean.

My thoughts turned to sharks again and quickly climbed back aboard my vehicle.

Fun quotes from The Cruise

10 years ago I would have my first cruise. It was a Disney cruise. I have been on several cruises since then, but I think Disney is the best.

I just went on another Disney Cruise. 10 years from now I should go on another. Of course I will go on on non Disney Cruises between that time.

There were a lot of fun quotes from the cruise, but here are some that I can remember.

The Princesses are the Princesses

This was in response to the question if the Disney Princesses had other jobs on the ship.

If the characters on the ship don't have other jobs, they must have the easiest jobs. The crew on a cruise ship probably wort harder then most jobs on land. Some crew members even had more than one job.

The fish that delivers messages

My niece asked me if I knew the fish that delivered messages. I told her no and mockingly questioned if she knew any fish that could deliver messages.

Apparently she was referring to the little place holder by the door where messages could be situated. It had a image of a fish next to it.

If I had the Internet I could tell you

It w rather amazing how many times I wanted to go on the Internet to look something up. They had an Internet connection but I would think I probably would have wasted way too much time looking up stuff I didn't need to look up. I was on vacation! I didn't need to get on the internet.
