Risks of Losing Portable Devices

I bought a Palm phone off a friend who did not clean up his data. I got chewed out for not deleting it?

Chicago Tribune | McDonald's signs Shrek

Bad news for Disney, but I guess they deserve it.

Chicago Tribune | McDonald's signs Shrek: "Beginning in 2007, McDonald's will instead gain access to tie-ins with movies from DreamWorks Animation SKG. The agreement will kick off with a major promotion for 'Shrek 3.'"

Michael's Shower: Herndon

Michael's Shower: Herndon: "I met a lady from Herndon, VA. She kind of looked like an elf. She had large, almost pointed ears."'

She is actually from Burke, I think. She's is out here now. I really hate that elf.

Gettysburg

Here are some more pictures of Gettysburg. It was cool the shots that I took and/or the ones I directed turned out well. It is humbling to see how ugly I am.

FM100 Soft Hits...Less Talk

Finally! FM100 Soft Hits...Less Talk: "Listen to FM100 live on the internet!"

I used to listen years ago while they got this free broadcasting deal with Yahoo! Then it was years I could not listen. Now it looks like it is working.

It's Internet by the way. I had a teacher that really stressed this, the capitol "I".

Anyway, I met Dain Craig and his mother in Baton Rouge.

I had to download Real Player from C-Net. I hope the software will not give me troubles in the future.

Looks like FM100's site is not in sync with the currently playing song. I'll have to get used to opening a new window before I open my mail browser... Oh well.

Possible movies of the all Superheros?

They have done movies of a bunch. Maybe they will get to all of them?

A DAY WITH THE AMISH

I would love to see the Amish, but I think it is a bit rude to treat them like fish in a tank of sorts. Maybe they don't care?

See: Tours and Attractions: "Leave the urbane world for the life of the Amish and the Mennonites in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Visit the Amish Farm and House which are authentic replicas of the Old Order Amish home and farmstead. Tour the countryside hearing about Amish customs including the Penn Dutch food, buggies, covered bridges and hex signs. Lunch on your own in a restaurant specializing in Penn-Dutch food: baked country sausages. chicken pot pie, homemade breads and Shoo-Fly pie. Visit Bird-In-Hand Market for lots of homemade crafts, quilts and more."

Schneier on Security: Evaluating the Effectiveness of Security Countermeasures

I have often thought why people advertise what security system they have. If that system can be broken, others of the same type might break just the same.

I have also thought to just put a sign up to scare potential threats away. Just like a scare crow.

I had the FBI symbol in my door window for a long time. I thought it was funny, but I wondered if it ever scared anyone off or if I'd get busted for advertising like that.

See: Schneier on Security: Evaluating the Effectiveness of Security Countermeasures: "A burglar who sees evidence of an alarm system is more likely to go rob the house next door. As far as the local police station is concerned, this doesn't mitigate the risk at all. But for the homeowner, it mitigates the risk just fine."

Civil War sites

I tried to sleep in today, but still got up at 6:30. I was waiting for info on a ride to Gettysburg, but I can't wait any longer. It's going to to be a long (8 miles) cab ride to my extraction point where I can get a ride. Oh well, it will be quick.... hopefully.

I am going to City of Manassas, Virginia in a few weekends. This is just a place holder.
